Seeker Sightings

Fire and Ice is shipping from Amazon! No sightings yet in bookstores but it should be there anytime!

Fire and Ice, book #3 of the Wild at Heart series by Mary Connealy.

Gage is an honest man, but he didn't make his fortune being weak. He won't break the law, but he'll push as hard as he can within it. Five thousand acres of his best range land is lost to him because Bailey's homestead is located right across the only suitable entrance to a canyon full of lush grass. Gage has to regain access to his land--and he's got to go through Bailey to do it.

There is a drawing for a signed copy of Fire and Ice. To get in the drawing you must specifically mention the title and that you want in! This is a test to see who's paying attention. :D

The blog tour begins for Myra Johnson's newest release, The Sweetest Rain, with interviews, reviews, and giveaways!

First up, next Tuesday, 9/22, Myra faces off with Charity Andrews on A Transparent Mom blog. This is a totally different kind of interview, and we promise, it's going to be fun!

Next, on Friday, 9/25, read Leslie McKee's review plus a peek at the inspiration behind this novel. And there's more to come, so check back next weekend for the latest announcements!

As the drought of 1930 burns crops to a crisp, Bryony Linwood dreams of cooling winter snows and the life she would have had if Daddy hadn’t been killed in the Great War and Mama hadn’t moved Bryony and her sisters to their grandfather’s struggling tenant farm in tiny Eden, Arkansas. Now Mama’s gone, too, and as times grow tougher, Bryony will do whatever it takes to ensure her family’s survival. Michael Heath barely survived the war, and twelve years later all he wants to do is forget. A virtual recluse, his one passion is botanical illustration. Lost in the diversity of nature’s beauty, he finds escape from a troubled past and from his wealthy father’s continual pressure to take an interest in the family plantation. . . . As their relationship deepens, friendship soon blossoms into healing for wounded souls and a love that can’t be denied.

Congrats winners!

Mary, I have to admit, "Fire and Ice" makes me think of the Pat Benatar song before I think of western ... =P

Myra - Bryony's is one of my favorite names --congrats on your new books! It sounds great. =)

Thanks for the chance to win Seeker novellas and more!

Ruth Logan Herne said...

Congratulations to all winners, and Tina, thank you for another amazing Weekend Edition with our bestest and brightest roving reporter, The Radcliffe!

St. Martin's Press takes unagented submissions????? WHEN DID THIS BEGIN?????????

And the couple of comments on the Wattpad article are very telling, so be sure to read them, too.

Saturday. Writing day.

PSYCHED. I can't wait to read something in my TBR pile but I have to finish edits first. They're Priority One, so after edits... I will treat myself to a delightful story that will make me laugh out loud!!!! Bailey, I've been waiting for this back-and-forth, you and Gage!!!!

Congratulations to all the winners! I am excitedly waiting to hear who wins the Carol Awards tonight.

Please put my name in the candy dish for the Christmas Seeker Sets. I can't wait to read them.

I would also love to have my name in for a copy of Fire and Ice.

I have a question for any of you. I was very upset last night when I was in our local Walmart and they had pallets stacked right in front of the books! I always stop and look at the books. Especially the Love Inspired and often one of those makes it into my cart. I decided I couldn't let this go. I thought about climbing on to the pallets, but my safety would be at risk. So instead I talked to a manager made a big complaint. I told her that I help Authors promote their books and that Authors and publishers would not be happy when I tell them that their books are not being able to be purchased because someone is too lazy to move the pallets. My question is this. Is there more I can do. I know sales are important. Would the publishers be interested in knowing and if so how do I contact them. This is not the first time I have complained and nothing gets done about it. 6:00 on a Friday night is definitely not the time to block any section in the store.

Three twenty am in Phoenix. Let the Weekend Writing Games BEGIN!

Such pretty book covers. Mary, I'm paying attention!!

Okay, Villagers at ACFW. Send us a picture. You and another Villager or a selfie! Will be cheering all our Genesis and Carol Villager pals!

Ruth Logan Herne said...

Ruth Logan Herne said...

Tina's budging in on my hours! She's become the new early hours Queen! We get to chat pre-dawn! YES!

Tina Radcliffe said...

By necessity, not by choice. YAWN!!

Ruth Logan Herne said...

I get it. I hear you. I brought BEST COFFEE EVER, Gevalia's frothing cappuccino!!!! Because I love sharing! :)

Mary Curry said...

I hear you on necessity. 6:30 may not be Ruthy or Tina hours, but I'm impressing myself being up this early on the Saturday after the first full week of school. I could easily sleep another 8 hours!

And because I can't resist this teacher type thing, Yes, please put me in for a copy of Mary Connealy's Fire and Ice. I've been known to say things to my class like - If you're paying attention right now, touch your finger to the tip of your nose. It's always such fun to see the ones who are listening do it and the others begin to look at them in bewilderment. So then they do the same thing, but when you ask why they're doing it, they have no idea. ;)

I haven't seen this best coffee ever that you speak of in stores here. Do you order through Amazon or just have better supermarkets?

Okay - back to the book.

Bettie said...

Congratulations to all you winners. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I would love to win a Christmas novella collection. Can't wait for Fire and Ice to come out...I'm paying attention! I thoroughly enjoyed the first two stories in this series and have been anxiously awaiting for the last one. It's raining fire(lightning) and water here so it will be a good day to stay inside and write.

Tina Radcliffe said...

Better stores and Amazon,Mary Curry.

Tina Radcliffe said...

Do you have a Keurig, Mary Curry/ Cate Nolan? Gevalia Cappuccino K-Cup Packs and Froth Packets!

Mary Curry said...

I could not live/write without my Keurig, Tina. I've seen the pictures of your K cups, but I haven't found them on our shelves. Maybe Target will have them. I'll look sometime.

Ruth Logan Herne said...

Wegmans and Tops carry them up here, but other than that, I don't see them. But Amazon (of course!!!) has them!

They are delightful, Mary/Cate, and it was Cara Lynn James' fault for bringing them to Nebraska in the spring.... and we all WOLFED THEM DOWN.

The poor thing probably thought she'd get more than one, LOL!

Jackie Smith said...

Please enter me for the Christmas novella collections and the Amazon gift card. And Mary's book, Fire & Ice, sounds great.....I'll take a copy!
Happy Weekend to all!

Oh, the list of finalists and winners in Carol and Genesis made me smile!!!!

First, finaling is HUGE. I say this with total regard to the winners, but honestly, making it into that top tier means you wowed several people, so huge congrats to all of the finalists!

And I'm so glad you guys are having the time of your lives in Dallas! SWEET! My life on the pumpkin farm pales in comparison, but I shall live vicariously through your joyous facebook posts!

A beautiful Sunday is upon us. Glad to hear how wonderful the ACFW conference was. Congratulations to the winners. Looking forward to viewing the pictures. Please put my name into the weekend candy dish. I enjoy all the Seekerville posts and especial the weekend edition.

Suzanne Baginskie said...

Good Morning everyone. Enjoy your coffee, tea or whatever. Have an inspired writing week. Don't give up.

Suzanne Baginskie said...

It's a great day to start a new week and make a list of your writing goals. Be true to yourself and think positive. A rejection hurts and emptiness fills you. I've been there.. Don't let it consume you. Fail your way to the top. Smile. Keep writing!

Ruth Logan Herne said...

Suzanne, I agree wholeheartedly. I love that line "Fail your way to the top".

And being published doesn't minimize or even reduce the rejections... They're still there, but we don't let them define us. Like you said, it's a new week, a new start and a great Sunday.

I'm off to Mass and cuddle The Mighty Finn... Then back to pumpkins!

But I'm honestly delighted with my edits on "More Than a Promise", my spring Franciscan book.

It's making me laugh... and wince from time to time.

It's a sweet, sweet story!
