  1. Congratulations, TINA! You win the prize for best WE posts! Congratulations to all the winners, and since I am part of Seekerville, that includes me! I hope you all have a great Weekend!

  2. Another great WE, TINA! Thanks for all the great links and info. Congrats on the WW story! You have cracked that nut!

SPEEDBO is such a great month. Although I've been highjacked and I'm not at my mid-month word count goal, I am right where I need to be right now, so this month has been very successful.

The offer to critique is very generous. I'm thinking there are about seventeen of us Seekerville fans in the Matchmaker contest who would love to have a reading before the next deadline - but that is April 6. Kinda tight. Still, feedback is always golden.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

  3. Great WE as always, Miss T !! :)
    Congrats to all the winners!
I am THRILLED to win the tote and sachet from Missy!! THANK YOU!! :)
Everyone enjoy your weekend, and to my fellow SPEEDBOers - - happy writing!! (I'm personally hoping to add lots of words to my S'bo WIP!)
Since it's almost 1:30 a.m. here, guess I'd better get some zzzzzzz....
    Hugs, Patti Jo

  4. I got my line edits in the drop box 10 minutes before it got picked up. Back to speedbo!

  5. Happy Weekend! Great post, Tina!

    Congrats to all the winners!

  6. Thank you for another great WE, Tina. I loved your story in Woman's World...definitely one of my favorites!
Congratulations to all of the winners...including me! I can't wait to read Myra's latest. I love the cover!

  7. Thank you so much Tina! Up early on Saturday for some editing work. Love stopping in here! Wishing everyone great progress. Does anyone else with kiddos need to rise very early to get things accomplished? Lots of thwarting this week, and more serious things like considering attending a funeral out of town next week. My son and I fighting off a bug. Trying to stay in that "I get to do this" mindset of gratitude, even with lots of interruptions. Thanks for keeping us all motivated Tina!

  8. Just checking in before a day of running!
I'm going to a session in Omaha taught by Chip MacGregor today!
It'll be fun to see him. I don't know him well of course but he's a familiar face. And who knows, I might learn something. (Good luck, Chip!)

Speedbo is going so well for me. I am staring in the face of finishing my WIP and hope, hope, hope to do it this weekend!

Then one book to revise--for the next Seeker novella collection. And I got galleys in the mail so go through that. THEN on to a novella!

  9. Wow, TINA, this weekend is overflowing with great stuff!

I'm looking forward to reading the "report ins" from those participating in Speedbo!

  10. Mary, you really should try harder to get something done, LOL. You've got FOUR plates spinning in the air? A WIP, revision, galleys then on to a novella and a session in Omaha? My head is spinning along with all those plates of yours. I feel like a slacker just trying to finish READING a book and writing a review. Oh well, as one of the beneficiaries, I'm thankful for all the drive and determination my writer friends are blessed with.

I'm so excited to win Terri Backstocks, If I Run! I love a good suspense. Thank you Terri and Seekerville.

Congrats to MISSY on making the March's Best list and to all the other winners this week.

Tina you know I appreciate all the love you pour into the WE. Even as a reader I find such interesting articles to explore. Your the best!

I hope everyone enjoys their Palm Sunday weekend!

  11. ATTENTION KELI GWYN! I got "A Home of Her Own" at Walmart last night!! Such a beautiful cover and I look forward to reading it!! And did you notice how BIG your name is on the cover???)

  12. Congratulations everyone! It has been a great week of posts and I am looking forward to this week's topics.

The links were great, and Nancy Drew is coming back to TV? I must have missed the first round. :-) I loved reading her character as a kid, it will be interesting to see how modern TV changes things.

As far as Speedbo check-in goes, I had to change my goal due to outside issues and then all the wonderful growth this community has given me these last couple weeks. I cannot exclaim enough over how wonderful and encouraging everyone is, even to newbies like me. And I have to admit, the reader side of me has to work not to geek out with the fact I am interacting with writers I have been reading and loved for years. :-D I can tell that God directed me here for a reason and all the Seekerville community are a wonderful blessing. May everyone be blessed and productive in the remaining days of Speedbo.

  13. A Nancy Drew series? What about Trixie Belden? Doesn't she deserve some of that media limelight? I've always thought Trixie would make a great mystery series. Hurrumpph! Not that I have anything against Nancy...she's just not the only girl sleuth worthy of immortalizing on TV. Not sure what I think of that casting. Definitely not my idea of Nancy and if they are going to make it dark and angsty like Person of Interest then they should have just created a new characters. Why mess with Nancy?

Okay -- rant done -- thanks for the great WE. So much interesting stuff -- if I could just get over the whole Nancy Drew/ Trixie Belden thing. TRIXIE FOREVER! WOOT!

  14. Aw, Crystal, that is the sweetest thing ever. I'm so glad you're here with us!!!

Tina, thank you, thank you, thank you for another wonderful WE!!!!! And huge congrats to the winners! Yay for you and us!!!!!

I am busily working on polishing my first novella this month, and producing the first books of our "The Adventures of the Mighty Finn" kids' series for Kindle. My daughter Beth (a free-lance editor and photographer who happens to be Finn's mother) and I are producing them together, and we're having such a good time. I am loving writing kids' books!

Little kids are just so much fun to work with!

And Holy Week this week, my most favorite week of the year. I love the beautiful services that bring us to remembrance, starting with Palm Sunday tomorrow...

God is good, all the time.

But I am still in awe that he died for me.

  15. Kav, we almost named our oldest daughter "Trixie" because I loved Trixie Belden that much.

    But everyone said it's a dog's name....

So we opted for Sarah Beth and it worked out just fine, but my old Trixie Belden books were some of her favorites, growing up...

She's a college professor now, at Duke University, so maybe Sarah was a better choice. :)

  16. The energy is electric in Seekerville with Speedbo and great posts and winners! Cheering us all on!

Thanks for the great Weekend, Tina! Mega congrats to Missy! Looking forward to the week ahead.

Crystal, thanks for your sweet words. We're so glad you're here!

Congrats on getting the line edits done, Melissa.

  17. Congratulations to all the winners this week.

Thanks for all the links. Will be checking them out.

Continuing on with the writing and somewhat revised Speedbo goals as I continue to heal. I am pursuing on.

Melissa glad you got the line edits done.

Missy congratulations. That was a great book.

I am kind of bummed that I have not been able to get to Walmart and pick up Woman's World. I was looking forward to Tina's story.

Please enter me in the Speedbo drawing for the Kindle and also for the critique.

Have a great weekend everyone and happy writing. It is going to rain here and possibly snow tomorrow.

  18. Happy Saturday, Seekervillagers! (I have to pump myself up every Saturday because, as I've mentioned before, around my house it's the dreaded chore day [cue scary music].

CRYSTAL! You are such a sweetheart!!! We're so glad to have you here!!!

Keep healing, WILANI! Glad you're keeping on keeping on! Hope your weather doesn't turn too bad. Not liking this March blast of winter on its way and glad we won't have snow this far south.

I love Holy Week, too, RUTHY. The pageantry, the music, the liturgy--each special worship service is meaningful and inspiring in its own way. Catholics and Lutherans know how to do it up right. :)

  19. Happy Weekend Seekerville. I just finished Spring Cleaning in a sweeping (pun intended) forty eight hours, so now I can get back on track with my Speedbo.

Melissa J. Ten minutes before it was picked up. Wow, cutting it closer than I do.

Mary Connealy is running. Like a marathon? GO NIKE GIRL!!.

  20. Stopping back in again today to set out some goodies if anyone needs a snack.
Yes, the "usual" Georgia peach goodies, LOL- - (cobbler and muffins) but also pecan praline cookies and a pan of fudge.
For those healthy eaters, I fixed a little fruit tray with slices of apples and oranges, grapes, and strawberries. Enjoy!
    Back to SPEEDBO!! :)
    Hugs, Patti Jo

p.s. GLYNNA, you'll love KELI GWYN'S book!! Sweet story!! :)

And RUTHY, your daughter is a Duke Professor?! That's WONDERFUL!! I'm sure you're super-duper PROUD!! :)

  21. PATTI JO -- you're tempting me to abandon my current read and start Keli's! Bad girl! :)

TINA -- Now that you've whipped YOUR place into shape, feel free to journey on up the mountain and see what you can do about MINE!

WILANI -- How are you feeling?

KAV -- I feel bad--I don't know that I ever read Trixie Belden. Of course, I lived in really small towns with tiny libraries (some only with bookmobiles) so maybe that's why? They did have Nancy D, though.

  22. Good morning, Seekerville!

Yay! I won a copy of Ruth's book! Can't wait to read about that handsome cowboy! :-) Thank you, thank you!

This week's posts have kept me motivated when it got harder to sit down and write because of work, life, and a bathroom that got gutted to lay new floor and replace a leaking toilet. Thank you, Ladies of Seekerville, for such a fantastic lineup of posts to cheer us on or give us the occasional needed kick in the pants. :-) It took several write-till-three-a.m. sessions this week, but I'm slowly adding words to my Speedbo goals. Today's goals might or might not include a nap between writing sprints. ;-)

Happy first day of spring tomorrow, Happy Palm Sunday. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

  23. Thanks for another super WE, Tina, and congrats to all the winners. I've written over 7,000 words this month, even with a few challenges, and I'm on track to finish a 20,000-word novella by March 31. Even if I'm not stopping by as often right now, I'm with you all in spirit!

Have you seen the promos for the PASSION on Fox tomorrow night? Live on the streets of New Orleans. Yes, I said live. No sandals, no robes. Perfect for millenniels. Gather them around, folks, for the greatest story ever told . . . in their language. Looks amazing!!

  24. Happy Weekend everybody. I'm in a good mood because this is the start of spring break, so I will have more time for writing.

Mary, I laughed st your comment about a day of running. I pictured you literally out for a run. Guess that isn't what you meant!

Kav, I agree wholeheartedly that Trixie Belden should be a TV show. I would watch it!

    Wilani, prayers for continued healing.

So far I have met my Speedbo goals. The writing is terrible, but I am actually looking forward to continuing on with revising next month. Really looking forward to the post this week on the sagging middle. That is my problem.

Well, must get back to trying to meet my writing goal before I go to work at the book store this afternoon.

  25. Barbara, good to see you! Thanks for the reminder of The Passion. Wonder how more traditional folks will find the presentation?

Holy Week is so powerful, as Ruthy and Myra mentioned. A special week for all!!!

    Congrats to the winners!

Waving to Lyndee! Praying for all in the Matchmaker competition. Exciting, but stressful too, I'm sure! So proud of you!

  26. Oh my goodness! Yay! Can't wait to read Back In the Saddle! Thank you!

    Congrats, winners!

Keep on keeping on, Speedbo participants!!!

  27. This comment has been removed by the author.

  28. Thanks, Debby. I don't know how our generation will receive the modernized version, but they say almost half of milenniels have never heard the story of Jesus and they hope it will make it more relevant for them.

  29. Is it bragging or in poor taste to announce that Back in the Saddle is #1 over at Christian

I'm sure it is bragging, but that's okay, because we're supposed to share good news with FRIENDS!!!!

And I call you my friends!!!!

Jana let me know this morning, and I've been giddy (while scrubbing floors) all day!

  30. Barbara, good to see you today. Congrats on being on target with your novella deadline.

    Wilani, glad you're feeling better!

Sandy, you can't revise what isn't written. Go you!

Lyndee, pulling for you and all those in the Matchmaker contest!

Patti Jo, No way am I eating healthy when you brought peach cobbler. Grabbing a plate.

  31. Ruthy, I'm happy dancing that Back in the Saddle is #1!! Thanks for sharing the great news!!!

  32. I think it's GREAT you made #1 Ruthy! Quoting you, is it bragging to say I knew it all along? lol

I loved your comment to Jana about Ruthy is a POP-UP! funny

RUTHY'S scrubbing floors and TINA'S finished a 48 hr marathon Spring cleaning! What's wrong with me?
    1) I'm cold, it's only 48 degrees(okay it's colder where Ruthy is, so that's not a good enough reason)
2)Spring doesn't start until tomorrow(not naming names, but Tina is an overachiever and she's WARM))
    3) I have a book to finish, it's all about priorities and that's my #1

I'll be tuning in to the PASSION tomorrow Barbara mentioned and it's LIVE!

  33. My life just continues to be an adventure. I had an allergic reaction to the medicine. My lips and mouth swelled. I took a major dose of Benadryl and have been on the phone with the doctor. But the writing I had planned to do got shoved aside with the medical emergency.

I am so grateful for all the prayers.

A funny little note with all of this is my sister in law was going through my piles for lack of a better word. She said, "I am finding a lot of misc lists of names does this have something to do with your writing?" She also informed me I don't need any more pads of paper. I just hope nothing got thrown away while I was in the hospital because I do tend to jot down story ideas etc when I think of them. Just haven't got super organized since I don't have a desk. Anyway I thought it was kind of humorous because people who are not writers don't have a clue.

  34. Ruthy, congrats! You've got bragging rights! Thrilled for you!

  35. Wilani, so sorry about your allergic reaction to the meds! You still need our prayers...and we're still covering you!

  36. Tracey, it's live? I'll be watching!

  37. Yes Debby, I'm so praying it goes well. Regardless of whatever style of worship we like or are used to, it's a wonderful opportunity for those who don't know of Jesus and His sacrifice to see it. I don't mind an untraditional performance as long as it sticks to the gospel truth.

  38. Barbara, thank you for reminding me of the Passion!

I almost forgot, writing a large note to make sure I tune in.

  39. "Brag" ALL you want, Ruthy! That's exciting news!!

  40. You have earned bragging rights, Ruthy.

    Praying for fast relief, Wilani.

    Barb, good to see you!!!

  41. I'm so glad I discovered Seekerville in time for Speedbo, and I'm very grateful for the supportive writing community. I'm also discovering new authors I need to read since I only started seriously reading several years ago when I started working on my first novel. So, in the course of this month, my reading list has expanded by leaps and bounds. Excited to read all these interesting books I've been hearing about here!!

To date, I've already exceeded my monthly Speedbo goal of 30,000 words by about 7,000. This process has definitely helped me to flesh out a story I otherwise might've given up on, so thank you all for your mutual support. Hope everyone is having a great month!! Praying for all the participants, especially those undergoing trials. Wilani, maybe you can Speedbo more in April? In any case, I'm praying for you! Congrats to the winners (both the recipients of goods and of honors, like Ruth and the contest winners).

Myra, I liked what you said about the liturgy. I grew up in the Lutheran church so I can relate. Am I weird for liking all those minor key good Friday hymns?

  42. YAY RUTHY!!! What WONDERFUL news!!
I'm smiling, because I ordered your book from Christian and it arrived TODAY!! WOOHOO!!!! Along with Debby Giusti's and Janet Dean's!! My mailman delivered a Seekers treasure chest in a box, LOL! Cannot wait to begin reading all 3 of these!! LOVE my Seeker books and especially my Seeker FRIENDS!!
    Hugs, Patti Jo

  43. WILANI, I'm so sorry for all you've been through (and are going through). Prayers for complete healing SOON.
And I like your story about the sheets of paper with names that your sister found - - haha! Sounds like me - - even though I have a desk, I still write on lots of little note pads and (sadly) am not super organized. So I've got random story ideas, character names, etc. written on lots of note pads (which need to go into my file - - AFTER Speedbo!).
    Hugs, Patti Jo

  44. Congrats winners! Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

  45. How cool that I won something! Looking forward to the upcoming week's blog posts.

  46. I see my name is being bandied about in here....although I don't have an "e" at the end like that Miss Belden character & I most certainly am NOT a dog. Ruthy I happen to like my name thank you very much, maybe not so much when I was a kid however. Oh did I ever get made fun can be so cruel, can't they? But I LOVE it now because it makes me unique & stand out from the crowd! Which I've always kind of went my own way in the first place :-) No hard feelings, just giving you a bit of sass! *wink & smile*

Happy weekend everyone....hope your Speedbo is going well for you folks who are writers! Don't have too much more time to go.....YOU CAN DO IT, I BELIEVE IN YOU!!

Congrats to this weeks winners. I'd love to be in the draw for the surprise package of books. One can never have enough, in spite of what my husband says :-)

Blessings everyone, looking forward to another week of great posts!

  47. Love, Love, LOVE these WEs, Tina, and ALL THOSE AMAZING LINKS!! Got a kick out of the Irish slang blog, so thanks for including that "dude."

Whew, Melissa ... talk about by the skin of your teeth, girlfriend!! Congrats!!

Elizabeth, I don't have kiddos that compel me to rise early to get things done, I just have old age, which has sloooooowed me down, so THAT'S why I have to rise early these days. Either way -- kids or no -- rising early is the best thing a writer can do, isn't it??

Tracey said: "Mary, you really should try harder to get something done." LOL, yeah, Tracey, she and Ruthy are real slackers, aren't they? ;)

  48. Aw, Crystal, we are SO glad you're among us, my friend -- the blessing goes both ways, I assure you!

Ruthy, Beth and your Mighty Finn books sound soooooo fun!! Can't wait to buy some for my grands. :)

Wilani, hope you are on the mend, my friend, and almost back to normal. Prayers coming your way!!

Way to make us feel bad, Tina, getting your spring cleaning done ONE day before the first day of spring. I'm jealous!!

  49. Clari, you go girl, 3 a.m. sessions and all! I actually like those the best ... uh, as long as they don't happen too often ... ;)

Barbara Scott, soooooo glad you are cranking, girl, and trust you are well on the mend. Been praying for you, both the operation AND your novella deadline, so you go, girl! And, YES, I can't wait for PASSION tomorrow night ... or any night for that matter! ;)

Barbara said: "I don't know how our generation will receive the modernized version (of Jesus), but they say almost half of milenniels have never heard the story of Jesus and they hope it will make it more relevant for them.

Barb, have you ever seen the musical Godspell? The song Day by Day comes from it, and I absolutely LOVED it. It's a modern interpretation of Jesus, and I still remember the scene where He is "crucified" on a chain link fence. One of my favorite musicals of all time.

Hugs and HAPPY WEEKEND and HAPPY SPEEDBO, all!!

  50. The Irish Slang Blog post was written by Kelly Goshorn!

  51. Julie, we're so excited about The Mighty Finn books for kids, it's just crazy fun! Beth has put together pages that are perfect Kindle size, and Finn is the quintessential easy-going kid, he's like a little man in a tiny guy's body. Anyway we're having a great time, and learning as we go, and I love kid's stories that have fun and a lesson all rolled into one!

  52. Patti Jo, thanks for getting Plain Danger! You're such a dear friend!!!

Lara, congrats on your Speedbo word tally! You're amazing!!! Woot!!!

Happy Palm Sunday to all! We closed our service by singing "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord?" Always so poignant and perfect for Holy Week.

  53. Hey!!! Wow, this month has gotten away from me, but I finally got it to stop spinning around my head! ;-)
So I thought I'd better check in... I've got 9k of my goal 20k so far, so there's a lot of writing left to do! I'd better get back at it. :-)

Since this is the first of Speedbo for me, I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Is this where I should be posting my word count progress, or is that somewhere else?
    Thanks for your time!

  54. Hi E. Kaiser Writes. You can post here or not all. This is a self paced challenge. Congratulations on 9K!!!

  55. Thanks, Tina! :-)
Appreciate the assistance! I do like to post progress, because that spurs on to get more progress accomplished! :-)
And that's always a very good thing. :-)

  56. The Mighty Finn books look SO CUTE, RUTHY! Adorable little Finn is definitely hero material!!

So happy, too, that Villagers are making progress this month on their goal(s) of choice! I can hardly believe how FAST the past 20 days have flown by! If this is a preview of the speed I can expect for the rest of the year, I may need to start my Christmas shopping NOW as it will be here before I know it!

  57. Patti Jo, thank you for buying those! You have such a giving heart and that smile is, well... Gorgeous!!!

  58. E. Kaiser, it can help, right? There's something about chatting about it with others that makes it more tangible.

And tangible makes it more real.

  59. Wilani, you've had a rough month but I'm so proud of your positive attitude. You are in my prayers!

  60. Tracey ... spinning plates... okay, better than juggling sticks of dynamite while walking on a tighrope, which sometimes seems like the case.

  61. Mary Connealy is Nike Girl?

Wow, great reminder, I really oughta take a walk once in a while.

  62. Sandy, let's pretend like Mary ever ever ever even moves! Let alone actually goes for a run! I can feel my knees cracking just thinking about it!

  63. Tracey, thank you! I was thrilled and honored to see my book on that list. :)

Patti Jo, I hope you enjoy the prize!

  64. Janet and Wilani, thank you! Wilani, I'm sorry about the allergic reaction. I hope you're feeling better!

  65. Lara, that's AMAZING!! You're doing great!

  66. Elizabeth K, that's great!!! Keep up the good work!

  67. Mary Connealy, I think somewhere in here a rumor got started that you're running a marathon. LOL!

  68. Crystal, we're so glad you've joined us! :)

  69. Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you TINA for such a great WE. My Speedbo goal is mocking me right now, but I'm determined to finish at least close to my goal :-) Will be back later to read the links and comments. Hope everyone has a wonderful, productive week!

  70. Laura, let it mock! Let it scoff! :) We've got the power of the keyboard in our hands, and if we keep working steadily, it's amazing how quickly those words pile up!

  71. Great weekend!! Congratulations to the winners! Love the Other People's Heads link. Have a great week!!
