  1. Goooooooooooood Morning, SEEKERVILLE!!!!!!!

We've got a crazy fun weekend here at the farm, kids, kids and more kids... and there might be donuts on the menu as I self-defeat my own best intentions.... I'm looking forward to playing with anyone who wants to jump in on the Wednesday fun, so grab your courage hats and let's have some fun this week!

    I LOVE WRITING EXERCISES......

    :)

Have the best weekend! And move those clocks forward, says the Northern gal who loves getting that fake extra hour of daylight at the end of the day. Hallelujah chorus!

    1. Naked Came the Stranger Creating No Rest for the Dead!

A number of fun books have been written by groups of authors, sometimes in one day, sometimes as a challenge, with each author writing a chapter and each having to work with all the chapters that were written before theirs.

Some mean authors deliberately try to paint the next writer in a corner with impossible cliff-hangers. Creativity flourishes! Some of these books then are sold with the profits going towards charity.

Is this something Ruth has in mind for Wednesday? This could actually produce a novella or even novel by Thursday night. (So much for writing a novel in a month!)

Of course, the work would need some editing before publishing but I like the idea of a "Seekerville Instant Suspense Romantic Thriller".

What an Indy that could make!

      Vince

P.S. Do you know the works that make up my headline?

    2. BTW: The above chapters might best be written as James Patterson advises: "Make each scene it's own chapter and have each scene change the trajectory of the plot". This way each scene is short and important to the story.

    3. Oh, that Patterson is a smart one! Isn't this a fun idea, Vince? We'll play on Wednesday and see what happens!!!!!

  2. Good morning from the Black Hills!

We're in the middle of a winter storm here in South Dakota, with blowing snow and cold temperatures...a perfect day to stay in and get some writing done.

Congratulations to the winners! Have a great weekend everyone!

    1. Hi Jan:

Sometime ago I read about a movement to change the name of North Dakota to just Dakota, you know, like Virginia and West Virginia have done. (Pasadena and South Pasadena, also.)

Has anything come of this? Do you object to this from a South Dakota POV?

      Vince

    2. They should really change the names to East Dakota and West Dakota! There is quite a difference once you cross the Missouri River in the middle of the state.

But as far as I know, nothing has come of this suggestion (either combining or changing the boundaries.) It pops up every once in a while. I don't think it would ever happen, and I wouldn't like it if it did.

    3. I don't expect it will happen if only because the single name gives that state a hidden priority... as "The" Dakota and the other one is the add-on...

And that's kind of a slap in the face, isn't it? Although there was a strong rivalry between the two state areas back in the nineteenth century...

Jan, is it still that way? A rivalry? Or more of a sisterhood now?

I can't wait to see the Dakotas some day!!!

  3. Happy Sunday, Seekerville. Our sun is shining today and there is no new snow. Yesterday we broke 22 straight days of temperatures below freezing. We even have 40's in the forecast this week. Maybe our snow will disappear and spring will come.

  4. I spent yesterday with the grands watching them play baseball. They're such stars...at least, in my opinion!

Today's games were cancelled because the ball fields were too wet and muddy!

Sandy, I'm glad you're seeing the sun and having warmer temps. It's been a rough winter for so many!

Congrats to Missy and Mindy! Two lovely new books to grace our shelves!

    Have a blessed Sunday!

    1. Thanks, Debby!

We were crossing over the Chattahoochee today, and it's higher than I've ever seen it. So much rain around here! I'm not surprised the games were cancelled.
