Weekend Edition: For Love and Money

I am very excited to share with you a special week coming up in Seekerville. It's all about Love and Money. Love of contracts, love of romance, love of writing, love of story-telling and of course, love of getting paid.

While the Seekers are dedicated to the writing journey (and getting off Unpub Island), we also recognize that that journey to novel publication often includes other writing venues from which we can grow as a writer.

This week we are bringing you inside information on writing for other markets and a special encore session with Barbara Scott of Abingdone Press.

Monday: Deb Ng on professional blogging. Deborah Ng is the genius behind Freelance Writing Jobs.

Tuesday: Cindi Myers on the working writer. If you don't know Cindi, check out her Market News Yahoo Group or her website for news on her latest release A Man To Rely On, from Super Romance.

Wednesday: Michael Bracken on writing for the Confessions. Michael is a phenom in the confession world and we are thrilled to have him stop by and share.

Thursday: Abingdon Press Senior Acquisitions Editor for Fiction, Barbara Scott, is back for an Encore, Encore!!

Friday: Myra L. Johnson on the Christian nonfiction market. In addition to her multiple fiction sales in 2008 (Heartsong and Abingdon), Myra is also a nonfiction writer.

Saturday: Tina Russo shares on writing romantic fiction for Woman's World Magazine. Keep an eye out for her latest Woman's World story, Letting Go, which is on newsstands RIGHT NOW!! (orange cover, dated January 12, 2009)

We are starting 2009 with a bang in Seekerville. Anyone who comments all six days will be entered into a drawing for a $25.00 Amazon Gift Card.

So get your notebooks out and prepare to learn and maybe earn a little writing incentive.

  1. This is an awesome line-up. I appreciate the effort you put in and the caliber of people you round up!

  2. Sounds like a great line up! I can't wait to hear what they have to say. :-)

  3. Sounds like a really interesting week. Good job lining it all up!

My goal is to someday, someday, make more from writing than from poultry.

  4. With anyone else I would have thought they meant, "make more from writing than poetry" but Ann you really DO MEAN POULTRY.

  5. Earning money for my writing would be a nice change of pace for me. Bring on the learning and the earning.

  6. Wow!! What an amazing collection of guests you have for us. Thank you for pulling them together and thank you, participants, for joining the panel.

  7. Great week. Tina, I'm looking forward to reading your article. Well done!

  8. These topics sound interesting. I have been paid some for my stories but now feel the need to aim for more paying markets. You know the economy and we are retired.

  9. Thanks for all the lovely anticipatory comments for next week. I'm jazzed as well.

  10. Great job Tina in lining up so much super information. You need to share how you get all this energy and super ideas. A treasure for us Seekers for sure. Thanks again.

  11. I'm really enjoying my time spent her on Seekerville!

Praying you all one day make it off the island to PublishedLand:-)
