It's a huge part of who I am, for better and for worse sometimes (you know what they say about preacher's kids!). Yes, that's true. I sometimes think we are so spoiled now--things that once were luxuries are now "necessities."

I don't think you're whiny, Ruthy. When I first met him, I didn't like God very much and was still caught up in the occult. My first appointment with him I said, "But Pastor Don, I'm a good witch." He pointed out a few scriptures to me that implied there was no such thing as a good or a bad witch then said, "Tell me about your father." Thus began a two year journey of wrestling with God and father images until I finally came to realize that I needed a Savior. She came over with a couple of her sisters. She was very inspirational to me because of her faith and the way she raised her children, including my mother. My grandmother worked hard all her life, taking in boarders to make ends meet after my grandfather passed away. I know the first few stories I wrote were more romance than anything. As I have grown as a Christian, that has changed and I find myself unable to keep from including faith struggles ... and how they are overcome. I even set out last year to right just a romance, and gave up halfway through when the prayers and scriptures wouldn't stop sneaking in. :-)
I come from a long line of faith: Daddy is a preacher ,Granddaddy was a preacher, elders and deacons and strong women. But they just helped me gain the groundwork I needed for my stronger faith that has grown in the last years. And I am so grateful for the foundation they helped form.Amy Anguishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08227138959392552195noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3649424089750316818.post-47734570973801598582018-05-01T17:32:19.500-04:002018-05-01T17:32:19.500-04:00I was a lapsed Christian from my teens to my mid 3...I was a lapsed Christian from my teens to my mid 30's.
