The Advent Season is upon us! The time of the year when we remember the birth of our Savior and we anticipate the special day we've set aside for the celebration.
Here at Seekerville, we're hosting a month-long party for our readers and friends to celebrate the season of Advent!
We'll be posting six days a week with a variety of Christmas-themed posts, recipes, memories, and the like.
And we're giving away PRIZES. Opening up the prize vault and tossing out prizes like Black Friday Deals!
Each post will feature a prize or two or FIVE, and there is a GRAND PRIZE GIVEAWAY of not one but TWO KINDLE FIRE EREADERS! You'll be given LOTS of opportunities to enter, and the winners will be posted in the final WEEKEND EDITION post of December...
You know...just before our NEW YEAR'S CELEBRATION!
If it looks like I'm sort of excited about this, I AM! :)
Be sure to come by each day in December and chat with us about Christmas, Advent, yummy food, books, and prizes!
To get us started today, answer the questions posed in the pictures above, and I'll put your name in the Stocking Cap of Prize Drawings to win a copy of my book A Child's Christmas Wish!
On Behalf of the Seekers: Merry Christmas and we look forward to sharing with you this Advent Season!
Looking forward to a fun month!!!
ReplyDeleteMe too! :)
DeleteBlessings for Advent season! I'm looking forward to visiting with everyone next week as a guest blogger. Thanks to Mary Connealy for hosting me!
ReplyDeleteI want to squish you already! :-)

DeleteYay! It will be so fun to have you here!
DeleteWe're looking forward to it, Myra!
DeleteLooking forward to seeing you here again.
DeleteOhh! This sounds wonderful! Love and {{{HUGS}}} to you, Seekerville!
ReplyDeleteYou've been a great source of love, strength, and encouragement to this writer! xo
Cynthia! Don't you love it that encouragement doesn't just flow one way? You're an encouragement to us, too!
DeleteCynthia, we love hanging out with you!
DeleteThis is so fun. My favorite Christmas ornament is probably the one we bought on our honeymoon on St. Simon's island. It's a snowman made from sand dollars.
ReplyDeleteFavorite Christmas song is probably Sleigh Ride, which is ridiculous because I live in the south where we hardly ever have snow on Christmas, not to mention enough for a sleigh.
And I love coming up with perfect little surprises to fill my children's stockings. :-)
Oh, your ornament sounds so cute! Did you get married in December?
DeleteMy favorite Christmas ornament is My Breast Cancer Awareness by daughter bought me I am a survivor My favorite song is Silent Night and I love filling my grandchildrens stockings every year!
ReplyDeleteSarah! Blessings on you. I love your favorite ornament. My husband is a cancer survivor, too! It's a special journey, isn't it?
DeleteSo fun! I love Christmas and this is a great way to celebrate together. My favourite ornament are the pysanky snowflake eggs I painted for my daughters to remind them of my paternal heritage. My favourite song is Mary, Did You Know -sends chills down my spine. And YES still fill stockings for my girls (they are still little though) and for my hubby. Sometimes I buy something for my stocking but my girls are good at helping Daddy fill mine. (Lee-Ann B
ReplyDeleteAw, I love it that you all fill up stockings for one another. My daughter has already tucked a few things into my stocking! I'm so tempted to touch it, maybe give it a little shake! :)
Delete1. My favorite ornament is a Santa and sleigh that was hung on our first Christmas tree.
ReplyDelete2. My favorite Christmas song is Mary, Did You Know?
3. I did when our daughter was little but I haven't recently.
Blessings!
Connie
Hi, Connie! I love all the memories that are tied up in Christmas ornaments. :O)
DeleteI'm so excited. We haven't had a month long party in a while! And I love Christmas. I don't really have a favorite ornament. My favorite Christmas song is Oh Holy Night. Yes, we still stuff stockings. Please enter me in the drawing!
ReplyDeleteSandy, I love O Holy Night, too! Especially sung by a particularly good soloist. It makes me feel so hushed and reverent.
DeleteErica, I have to say that my favorite soloist for O Holy Night is my youngest brother. He sang it many years on Christmas Eve at our home church and he has always done such a good job.
DeleteI can't wait!! I also can't believe it's already here. Where did the year go??
ReplyDeleteI know, right? The older I get, the faster the time goes!
DeleteLooking forward to the advent celebration. Sorry I am so late today. I did a craft show today and then went to the school play for our Christian School. I have a few special ornaments. One my father carved for my tree 30 years ago. The other is an ornament I gave my grandmother when I was a little girl..
ReplyDeleteFavorite songs No Room, O Holy Night, John 3:16 to the tune of Silent Night.
Since it is just me I have been known to stick a few things for decoration with my stockings. I have the same stocking I had when I was a kid.
Wilani, your ornaments sound so sweet!
DeleteI hope you enjoy the Advent celebration! We really appreciate you!
We have a shiny red and gold Mickey ornament we had gotten quite a few years ago at Disney that is the family’s favorite.
ReplyDeleteMJSH, that ornament sounds like an adorable treasure!
DeleteI have no special ornaments becasue each one has it's own special memory for me. My favorite Christmas song is Mary Did You Know. I love hat the secular world has added to their list and the gospel is heard. Yes,I stuff stockings. Usually only for my grandchildren now.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait, jubileewriter, to stuff stockings for grandbabies. That must be the BEST!
DeleteMy favorite ornaments are the homemade ones that my daughter made when she was a little girl. I like listening to White Christmas by Bing Crosby. I still stuff stockings for my daughter and our fur baby.
ReplyDeleteStephanie H,
DeleteI love White Christmas! The movie and the song! :)
I'm so glad you're celebrating Advent out here in Seekerville. This year, I decided to create an Advent calendar (https://www.pinterest.com/lavernestgeorge/an-advent-calendar/) out on Pinterest with quotes and inspiration for the season. It's all good!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite ornament is our tree-topping angel. She is about 6" tall, made by a craftsman from cardboard and yarn with some sequins for sparkle, and she is the first ornament my husband and I bought as a couple. I love practically all Christmas music, but my favorite album is Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "Christmas Eve and Other Stories". Makes me cry every time! My hubby and I do indeed stuff stockings with little, funny and useful gifts. You can never have too much ChapStick!
Have a blessed Advent!
LaVerne
Hi, LaVerne,
DeleteMy husband introduced me to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra's music. So beautiful!
I no longer have a favorite ornament(lost all Christmas decorations in a house fire a few years back). We are currently rebuilding our collection ;) My favorite song is Silent Night! I love the arrangement my high school choir sang! I do fill stockings for Christmas - little 'fun' things for my girls and husband and this year for 2 soon to be sons-in-law!
