Tuesday: Debut author, Jackie Layton, discussed writing in 1st person vs 3rd person.
Wednesday: Ruthy counted off the 10 Ways to Conquer Fear with Focus and Faith. The winner of a $20.20 Amazon gift card to give away is Anne Rightler. But wait! An anonymous donor matched the gift card! The winner of the second $20.20 Amazon gift card is Lori Smanski!

Monday: Jan Drexler will discuss the wisdom (or not!) of taking on a new genre, and some of the things to consider when making the decision. Leave a comment to be entered in a drawing for a copy of "Convenient Amish Proposal."
Wednesday: Debby Giusti's blogpost will provide insights into the writing life so stop by and share in the discussion. Also leave a comment to be entered into a drawing for a copy of Debby's latest release, DANGEROUS AMISH INHERITANCE.
Friday: Pam Hillman is our hostess today.
Mary Connealy on a podcast!
Check out all Mary's wit and wisdom (ahem....okay, I tried!!!) on Six Gun Justice.
Side story, it's audio. I thought it was video. I spent a LOT OF TIME, picking out clothes, make-up, hair, set up the computer just right to get a head and shoulders shot, not to close, not to far from my face. And then...it's audio! Grrrr
And the lovely folks at Amazon Publishing have put Ruthy's bestselling "At Home in Wishing Bridge" Kindle edition on sale for $1.99!!!!! If you haven't read Ruthy's bestselling series about the small town with the big heart, this is a great chance to grab one of the books for your Kindle library! Ruthy would love to know what you think about Thea's story!

Happy weekend, Seekerville!!!! In and working here in Western New York, and beginning to get farm stuff started, which I love... and I've had to brave the virus-filled world, so me and my masks have done some farm shopping... and a new dishwasher yesterday (ordered) because my beautiful 5 year-old dishwasher blew another water pump (6th one in five years, which is crazy...) and while Farmer Dave says he prefers washing dishes by hand... he washes dishes about six times/year, so unfortunately, his opinion isn't weighted the same as mine. :) Busy times, lots of dishes, some paper plates (sorry, planet!!!!) and future baked goods....
ReplyDeleteBut I am so excited to feel like I'm busting loose.
And while being careful and keeping masks in the car and here on the farm for working with customers, we are striding forward.
Wishing you all wellness and faith!
Sorry about your dishwashers! I need a new dryer, but I'm making due until this pandemic has started to wane. My daughter needs a new fridge. We'll be hitting the appliance stores together as soon as we feel safe venturing OUT! :)
DeleteThis looks like a good week ahead and I plan to be around for most of it. It is so important to stay connected with other writers, especially now.
ReplyDeleteThings are beginning to open up here too and I am out--but careful.
Have a nice weekend,
Kathy Bailey
Stay safe, KB! I'm considering a trip to the beauty salon this week. Although still not sure if that's wise. Praying for discernment!
DeleteDebby, my beauty appointment has been rescheduled for June 11. I think I will feel comfortable going by then. Here in Nebraska all beauticians/barbers and customers are required to wear masks. I hope you figure out when you are comfortable going!
DeleteCongrats to all of the winners!
ReplyDeleteI hope you all have a fun and safe weekend!
Jackie, I loved your blog post this past week, but I got to the party late! I left a comment filled with lots of best wishes! So proud of you!
DeleteThank you for the weekend edition, and congratulations to the winners. I’m so excited about reading Beth Vogt’s last book in the Thatcher Sisters series. My thanks to Beth and Seekerville! Wishing everyone a safe and blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteHi Sherida! I know Beth's book will be wonderful! Enjoy and happy reading!
DeleteSending hugs to everyone! What's happening in your part of the world with the containment? Georgia is opening up...but I'm still at home!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners!
ReplyDeleteWe're having a cold rainy Saturday, but next week summer is supposed to pay us a brief visit, with temperatures in the 90's expected on Tuesday. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that or not, LOL!
90/s is a little much for May. We are supposed to have 80's all next week. We have had a lot of cold weather lately so I won't mind much.
DeleteHappy Weekend, everyone. Hoping to accomplish some household chores and plant our tomatoes this weekend. Also having a family book group on Zoom tomorrow that my brother-in-law has started. It is going to be the 3rd Sunday of odd months! Although we will see how long it continues once all the restrictions have ended and everybody goes back to being busy!
ReplyDeleteHow nice to do a family book club. My church book club met on Zoom last week. It was good seeing everyone.
DeleteMary on the "Six Gun Justice" Podcast
ReplyDelete"I spent a LOT OF TIME, picking out clothes, make-up, hair, set up the computer just right to get a head and shoulders shot, not too close, not too far from my face. And then...it's audio! Grrrr."
Well, not all is lost, you could look great for your husband. Never waste a fortuitous situation. :) (BTW: are there any romantics out there who also thought of this?)
Talking about audio: Your voice on the podcast seems to be about three octaves higher than in person. Did it seem higher to you?
I really liked the podcast and I would love it if you had a podcast each week for the weekend Seeker edition. Also if you really wanted to get creative, you, and any other Seekers, could interview the hero and heroine from your current release. It just takes three: you, one of your daughters and one SiL. You won't even need a script. Just use two people who have recently read and loved the book. Let them surprise you just as if they were your characters and you really did not know what they would say.
I like your idea about the virtual interview, Vince!
