Ruthy here, and I'm laughing because this is so true.
We tucked "Surprise!" on the December calendar for today, and the surprise is that we're all crazy busy...
Family. Faith. Illness. Work.
Oh... and writing!
So today we're just going to wish everyone the blessings of the holiday season, and it is a season around our house.
A season of harvest that turns organically into a season of Thanksgiving and then a time of expectation and waiting and praying... because He will come!
And oh, what a blessing!
So for now we keep busy, we do what we should and must and want and we gather virtually in prayer for you, for those who are ill, for the families of those who've gone to heaven already and in that vein...
How can we pray for you today?
How can we help?
During this busy time, how can we direct our combined prayers for you?
God bless you and have a wonderful, marvelous, beautiful weekend.
I know I have sent my personal Guardian Angel off to help a dear friend, and I don't send her off lightly because I keep her pretty busy... but she's a mighty force and if you need a legion of angels, let us know.
We've got them standing by.
One of my favorite prayer verses for others!
Go with God!
The Seekers
Is it Friday already???
ReplyDeleteYes, Ruthy, this is a crazy busy time!
I think we can all pray for each other's writing time. I know some have just finished up NaNoWriMo and want to keep that momentum going. Others are working on a new project - I know I'm starting a new short story today. And then there's the daily word count on the WIP that we all want to rack up...
And somewhere in the midst of it all, the soft waiting in the celebration of Christ's birth. Immanuel. God With Us. Jesus.
Somehow - gently - we need to carve out time in our lives to let that sweet Truth settle into our hearts and celebrate the season.
Keeping you and yours in my prayers, Seekerville!
Carving that time is so important... and just the simple time, the act of praying (without making a big deal of it) and taking God's hand... and asking for help or begging... as needed. Carving that time...
DeleteFor me, writing during December is always a struggle! Thanks for the prayers! I'm returning them in kind!
DeleteIt is such a busy time! One thing God is teaching me is to move and live at the pace of grace. I agree with Jan. We can pray for each other's writing. God is leading me to begin a new non-fiction book, and I would appreciate prayer for that, and for my husband, who lives with chronic and severe pain. Thank you Ruthy and everyone at Seekerville for your prayers. May God bless each of you and your family!
ReplyDeleteAnd we will keep hubby in prayer, Edwina. I know that's got to be so hard on both of you. God bless you! And we will not forget.
DeleteI feel like it's been forever since I stopped by! I've been out of my routine and I could use prayers for direction--in writing and in life, probably :)--and motivation. And the world could certainly use prayers, for sure! But the uncertainty of the world is a great reminder that Jesus and His Word is the only sure foundation as the world shifts on a daily basis. Blessings to all of you and a wish for each of us to have a lovely holiday season!!
ReplyDeleteJoin us in chat and in prayer anytime, Glynis! And that writing... and life... and time... oh we hear you!
DeleteRemember the story of how we Seekers became published?
We prayed one another into publication. That was our one goal, before we blogged or shared or even did anything, we were this kind of secret group of authors who believed that we could all succeed... that one didn't succeed at the expense of others, even in such a competitive business.
So we can do that kind of thing again. We pray for you.
You pray for us... and we make little corners of the world a better place because we don't have to physically gather to pray together anymore... for we're here. In Seekerville. Together. :) We've got this!
Yes and amen!
DeleteGreat post, Ruthy. I always feel better after hearing from you.
ReplyDeleteOh, sweet thing, bless you! We lift heart and soul together, on high.
DeleteHALLELUJAH!!!!
Great words here, Ruthy! I'd love prayers for my two boy-men. Each is dealing with a lot right now. It’s been kind of a tough year in a lot of ways. And always for the writing time, like Jan said. May your family find health, rest, and peace in this season!
ReplyDeleteJeanne, I'm so glad you asked for prayers. These aren't easy times for so many, and our young folks have a lot of questions that don't have sensible answers right now. We're covering them with prayers!
DeleteI love it that this community of writers is so Christ focused! Please pray for those of us with wayward children. Some are jumping off the deep end and breaking our hearts. Some go about their business leading decent lives, but rejecting the faith we raised them to believe in. At a time when the world can most most clearly see the coming of the Savior, please pray that he would come into the hearts of those nearest and dearest to us.
ReplyDeleteTerri, I am sure that your request echoes that of many and touched a lot of hearts. Adult children are a difficult challenge because they're adults... and now because the world around them is often not Christ-centered, or makes light of faith or people with beliefs in God, in heaven... as if we're simple. You and I know that even though we share a simple faith, there's nothing simple about it or us! Praying for yours and all adult children and their parents who must juggle their love with a faith of strength and structure and forgiveness. It is not for the faint of heart, is it???
DeleteSo many people are in need this year. I'm lifting all of Seekerville up to the Lord and asking for abundant blessings for our dear blog community! Praying for health, holiness and happiness during this blessed Christmas Season!
ReplyDeleteAmen!!!!
