Hello Seekerville!

Happy Monday and beginning of the week! I am so excited to be here and be a NEW member of Seekerville! Pepper Basham was lovely to cover for me last month when I was stranded out west in floods and tornados! But I am home now!

Where is home? Home for me is in Wisconsin. I was born and raised here and love this state dearly. In fact, I set many of my stories in this state as well as Michigan. But don't be dismayed. I've got a book on deck set in Montana. I will spread my wings!

What do I write? I'm a bit creepier than many of the Seekerville authors. I like to call it "Scooby Doo for adults". Ghosts and secrets and mysteries all explained with a hope-giving side of faith! You can check out my stories here!

I have two kiddos both approaching their teen years. Any advice? We also have four cats, and I promise you will get to know them very well. Especially my muse and my boy, Foo!

He helps me write my stories. He is cuddly and sleepy by day and turns into a werewolf at night. He's quite the epitome of my stories all wrapped up in a mischievous cat!

All this to say! I'm so grateful to be here with all you. Will you please help me get to know you and leave your name, state, and fur baby info in the comments?

In His grip! Happy Monday!

Jaime

  1. Welcome, Jaime! You will fill a slot -- we needed someone with a Gothic bent.
Where in Wisconsin do you live? We lived in Minong for a couple of years. Home of the Jack Link buffalo empire.
I am a native of New Hampshire and lived in Boston, Colorado Springs and Wisconsin before coming back home. I have a husband and two adult daughters. No pets.
I write Christian historical fiction and romance. Right now I'm focused on the settling of the American West, with three novels and two novellas in the "Western Dreams" series, focused on the Oregon Trail period. I'm trying to expand my repertoire at least to another historical period and have a WIP focusing on Lexington and Concord, but the West keeps drawing me back. Or snapping me back, like a rubber band on the wrist, and I know the West and I aren't done yet.
Seekerville has been a great cheerleader for me. I wasn't published until I was 69 (three years ago), and it's been a blast ever since. The final "Western Dreams" book comes out July 22, "Redemption's Hope," and I'm scheduled to be the featured blogger here on July 26. I can't wait!
So grateful to be a part of all this.
Around here I'm known as Kaybee, but you've probably already picked up on that.

  2. Hello, Jaime! Welcome to Seekerville! I've read several of your books and enjoyed them very much so it's exciting to get to know you and learn from you. I'm Glynis. I live in Rapid City, South Dakota. I'm unpublished and am currently writing on a speculative manuscript. No fur babies, but we're in the strange season of having both our adult children at home at least until one goes back to college in the fall. The other just graduated college but needs a little prodding to start her job search and the next phase. So glad to have you here!

  5. Glynis, my daughter just moved to Watertown, SD. She absolutely loves living in South Dakota - getting back to the basics of life which seem to have disappeared from the Front Range of Colorado. Jaime, my folks lived in Poynette, WI for a number of years after I chose to go out of state for college (no need for in-state tuition break.) I remember vacationing there when we lived in Chicago (until I was 9 then we moved to Colorado). Loved the lake; loved the people; loved the fish frys!!!! - Audra

  6. Hi, Jaime! My name is Terri and I'm an unpublished writer living in Kansas. I'm an empty nester with no fur babies. I do, however, have two grandkids, ages twelve and almost ten, who are currently keeping me quite busy with summertime adventures. I love the Scooby Doo description of your books and I'm looking forward to checking them out.

  7. Welcome to Seekerville, Jaime! I'm so glad you joined our...um...interesting crew. :-)

I'm in the Black Hills of South Dakota. When you were at Mt. Rushmore, if you had turned around and looked east, you could have waved to me. I have a view of the "boys on the hill" from my office window.

I'm looking forward to your Montana stories!

  14. Hello, Jaime, and welcome! I fell in love with your writing when I read The House on Foster Hill, and my fandom has only increased with each book that you've written. I grew up reading Phyllis Whitney and Mary Stewart, and you were just what I needed to feed my love for gothic stories. One dog and several cats live with my husband and me in our Kentucky home.
