If you are not familiar with our giveaway rules, take a minute to read them here. It keeps us all happy! All winners should send their name, address, and phone number to claim prizes.  Note our new email address and please send your emails to Seekerville2@gmail.com

Monday:  We all were winners of a virtual beach retreat brought to us by Missy Tippens! However, the winner of the tote bag and a copy of His Summer Valentine is Connie Porter Saunders!

Wednesday: Publishers Weekly Bestselling author Debby Giusti asked, "Who is Rosie Glick?" in her blog post that also included a few snapshots from Debby's personal Amish photo collection. In addition, Debby held a drawing for a copy of the fourth and final book in her Amish Protectors series, which is Rosie Glick's story. Congrats to Nicole House. Nicole, you won a copy of Amish Christmas Secrets

Friday: There is no doubt that a series of connected stories, when executed well, are big hits with readers, right? Winnie Griggs cataloged the pros and cons well! The winner of all 4 books of the Knotty Pine series is Tanya Agler. And the winner of the Journeys of the Heart Novella collection is Sandy Smith.

Monday:  Jan Drexler will be here talking about balance. Is your life out of whack? Are you having trouble fitting your writing and/or reading time into your busy life? We'll be discussing the problem and some solutions (hopefully), so bring your ideas! And one commenter will win a copy of Jan's newest release - book one of a new series from Revell, The Sound of Distant Thunder, releasing September 18th!

Wednesday:  Join us as Melanie Dickerson talks about how to find plot ideas and how to "write what you know" at the same time, using her first Southern Historical Romance as an example.

Friday: Pam Hillman is your host today. When this WE went to press, she was pursuing a really cool idea for Friday's post. Come back and let's see how it panned out! :)

Garrison's Law book #3

Loving the Texas Negotiator

Available for Pre-Sale now
Coming September 4th

Not all the Garrisons are guys.

Beth Garrison is the top hostage negotiator in Rocky Ridge, Texas. She's called to serve on a task force to investigate a killing that is a copycat of her first bust as a rookie.

Tate McCade has a reputation for steamrolling anyone who gets in his way and he's had a run-in with Beth and her oversized ego before. He's got a bruise on his face to prove it.

They have to work together and sparks are flying that aren’t all about the job.

Speaking of Mary Connealy, Carrie stopped by to visit her at Barnes & Noble on Book Lovers' Day! Well, ok, not Mary herself (sadly) but her books, which are the next best thing!

Winnie's Publisher is giving two of her books a refresh, putting then out with gorgeous new covers. Check them out below.  And to learn more about the books themselves, just click on the covers.

Rosie Glick's story available for pre-order!

  1. Good morning everyone, and happy weekend! Congratulations to last week's winners!

What is everyone doing this weekend? I'll be writing all day today. One of my favorite ways to spend a Saturday. :-)

  2. Wish I were writing, but have to do too many things I let go when I WAS writing. Have a wedding this afternoon and the reception is potluck so I have to whip up a couple of things. Looking forward to next week's posts.

  4. Happy Weekend, my Seekerville Friends!
Congrats to the winners, and looking forward to another great week in Seekerville! :)

Kaybee, hope to meet you in person at ACFW!!
I still have SO much to do before then, plus it's our "family birthday season" and we have longtime friends from Texas planning a visit shortly before I head to ACFW. If only I didn't require any sleep, I could get everything done, LOL. ;)

Everyone enjoy your weekend, and also please enjoy the peach cobbler I've just baked this morning!
Looks like stormy weather is headed to my neighborhood, which for me means good writing/reading weather. :)
    Hugs, Patti Jo

    2. 3 years ago I couldn't run at all lol. Our church did a couch to 5k and I've been running ever since.

  6. Happy Weekend, everyone. I'm excited that I won the novella collection from Winnie. I'm looking forward to reading it.

I will be seeing family later today, which is always nice. Trying to catch up on a lot of stuff this weekend.

I just got back from a hair appointment with a new hairdresser, as my previous one moved away. In chatting with her, I found out she is engaged to a man with two young daughters. I asked what he does and she said he's a cowboy. I thought it sounds like a Love Inspired novel!

  7. Happy Weekend everyone! Congrats to all the winners this week.

I have a question for all your writers. I keep a hard copy of all my books while writing. Printing off each new page as I type it. I keep them in a binder with a pocket in front so I can create a cover for each book. My friends are appalled at how many notebooks I have been buying this summer while the back to school sales are going on. Here is my question. Every time I edit and make changes once the book is finished with the first draft. I begin a whole new draft on my computer and begin a second notebook. Some I am on a 7th draft. With this method, I am thinking that when I do get to the stage and I am ready for an editor that if they suggest something I already deleted I would still be able to find it and save a lot of work. But my bookcase of binders is getting full. I am considering removing all earlier editions and clipping them together with the large binding clips and then finding a box or filing cabinet to keep them in. I live in a very tiny house with no storage room. Anyone have any suggestions. With removing some of the binders I would actually be able to recycle a binder with any new additional stories I decide to write during the next year.

The Lord is good. By the way I understand the reason my friends are appalled even though they are not writers. I am living on a very limited income as well as a very small house. I do find it so much easier to find what I have written earlier in a story by looking at the hard copy instead of fiipping through computer pages.

    1. I used to do something very similar, Wilani...and ran out of room very quickly!

I no longer keep hard copies of my books - I find it easier to scroll through a Word file - but here's my suggestion:

Only keep your most recent version as a hard copy. Keep a file on your computer for the chapters or scenes you've revised and label them in a way that will help you find them quickly.

But someday, you won't be keeping your stories in binders because you'll have all those pretty books lined up on a shelf! :-)

  8. It's actually not humid and broiling hot today so I'm heading out to the garden before the next wave of yucky weather rolls in. And I walked to my library and back -- that's 2 km already today. Woot! Great links in the WE -- I'm working my way through them a bit at a time. Carrie's blog post was very touching and inspiring. Couldn't manage to post on the site for some quirky techno reason but I sure appreciated those words and her reference to Mercy Me's 'Even If' which I actually haven't heard before.

  10. Cliffhanger!

When will we learn about Pam's 'really cool' idea for Friday's post topic?

Is there a prize for guessing it before it is announced?

I'm guessing: "Death on the Natchez Trace: What Really Happened to Meriwether Lewis?"

  11. Congratulations to the winners from last week! What a great WE, thank you, Audra! I'm looking forward to this coming week, and hoping I'll be able to participate a little more. :)

I look forward to checking out some of those links. :)
