  2. Congratulations to the winners. Congratulations to Ruthy and Debby. Debby, I have a copy of the book, I bought one, but it is buried in the abyss of TBR. I'm sure it's great.
Can't stay long today, off to Boston with my husband, I write while he's in his meeting. I write UNINTERRUPTED because nobody knows me.
Looking forward to this week and these posts!

  8. Yay, Debby and Ruthy!

    Congratulations to all the winners.

Hoping I gain some strength by tomorrow. Vertigo is continuing and it is getting very old and discouraging, I saw the doctor on Tuesday, He said my eardrums and tubes in both ears do not look good so I am on new medications but not improving yet.

I was wanting to start a new children's book today but not sure if that will happen.

I just feel overwhelming sadness which is not me at all. I also think part is also still the grief from losing my parents along with the extreme exhaustion and dizziness. So glad I have the Lord and he will give me the strength and encouragement.

I went to a breakfast this morning for the senior citizens which was great

In one of the books I'm polishing, the main character has the same type of injury as I have. I came across a description of what she was feeling but it has a word in it that I am supposed to avoid but for the life of me I can't think of another way to say it. If anyone is willing to help me figure a way to reword it and have a punch to the sentence I would appreciate it. Of course it doesn't help that it is the way I'm feeling right now.

It was as if she were on a carousel, roller coaster, tilt a whirl, and scrambler all at once.

I do hope everyone has a great weekend.

I am so glad I have the Lord with me and I know He'll get me through this.

    1. Wilani, which word is the problem? If it's one of the amusement park rides, can you leave it out since you provide a number of examples?

    2. Was and were. Critique always have access conjpconni when I use them, but sometimes I can't see any other way to phrase it. Is it okay to use occasionally?

    3. Wilani, I would get rid of the was and were something like this: Dizziness whipped her world around as though she rode on a carousel, roller coaster, tilt a whirl, and scrambler all at once.

If dizziness isn't the right word, use whatever refers to "it" in your original sentence.

  10. So exciting for Debby and Ruthy! What a fantastic week for all!

I hope you're all having a great weekend! We had a nice dinner last night with our local kids. So fun to get together with most of them. (We look forward to our Tennessee son coming home for Thanksgiving!)

  11. My husband and I spent last week in sunny St. Augustine. Such a beautiful, historic city. We loved touring in spite of the near 90 degree heat!

We came back to cool temps in GA, which is nice for a change!

  13. Many thanks for winning Jan's The Sound of Distant Thunder. I'm so excited to be receiving this novel. And congrats to Debby and Ruthy also. It's cool and windy here in Philly. No leaf racking today for me. But did feed all my acid loving plants and shrubs with Hollytone. A blessed week ahead to all.
