  1. Congratulations to all! I've been out of the loop this week working and traveling, but I wanted to stop in and ask for prayers.... because it seems I am driving smack dab into HARPER this afternoon.... I'm hoping to beat the worst of it, and I've plotted what can only be called an "interesting" route to avoid SNOW MAKER MAMAS LAKES ERIE AND ONTARIO.... two of my BFFs in nice weather, but a treacherous pair in wind and snow.... so pray us home, my friends! I'm taking a country road more eastern route (I will be passing directly through Wishing Bridge country, and youse know how well that turned out!) :)

Enjoy your Saturday and Sunday.... God bless you all!

    1. *waves* Ms Herne,

Sending you travelling mercies as going into a storm like that on the road is definitely one which needs mercy and prayer! I loved how you said "snow making mamas" to refer to the lake effect snow monsters! Hoping you'll get through the least of it and off the road before the worst churns into the areas / roads your travelling!!

    2. Praying for you today. I'll trade you some of my rain for the snow. I am so tired of all the rain. My body and rain do not get along together well. So glad the Lord is sustaining me through all the vertigo which is caused by the rain.

  2. We're getting Harper here too. I don't know when the NWS or the TV meteorologists decided they have to NAME everything. But I am prepped with food, fire and a stack of books, both personal copies and library finds. It could be worse. It has been worse. My new series takes place in NORTHERN New England and let's just say there are a lot of snow days.
Got off my Ann H. Gabhart kick long enough to read "The Great Alone" by Kristin Hannah. Not a CBA book, but still a stunning story about a homesteading family in Alaska in the early 1970s. Let's just say it made me glad I live in New Hampshire, now. It is the COLDEST book I ever read. "Dr. Zhivago" is the coldest movie I ever watched.

    1. I love Ann's books.

I'll have to look for The Great Alone. I tried to talk my family into moving to Alaska in the early 70's, but for some reason my parents didn't think it was a good idea. *sigh* But I love to read books so I can fulfill my dream through someone else's experience.

    2. Love Kristen Hannah. Must look for The Great Alone, just as Jan mentioned. But, I don't like the cold. :) Yes to Zhivago being a cold movie. Brrr!

  3. Stay safe in that storm, Easterners!

We're having sunshine today after a mild snow event yesterday, and everything is lovely. :-)

This is our painting weekend. We're changing the walls in our kitchen/dining room/living room/entryway/hall (aka "Great Room") from muddy, early 2010's brown, to a bright white with a creamy yellow tinge. Even with only one coat of paint on, I couldn't believe the difference this morning!

So it's a paintbrush instead of a computer for me today!

  4. Congratulations winners! I wish everyone a safe and warm holiday weekend. Kentucky is predicted to get some interesting weather today and tomorrow!

  5. .
    "…special brand of awesomeness…"

    I wish I'd written that!
But why do we have to wait until Friday?
    The wait most long!
Ah, anticipation is half the fun.

  6. Congrats to the winners!

Praying for safety for all those in Harper's path. In GA, we've got rain but no snow. Tomorrow our temps will dip thanks to the storm.

I've brought hot chocolate and warm cinnamon buns for a morning snack. Enjoy!

  7. Congratulations to all the winners.

Everyone stay safe in Harper's path.

My life is about to change in a big way. I sense a plot twist coming in one of my books. My very dear friend became very ill while visiting family the beginning of December when she came down with encephalitis and had multiple brain seizures which caused the doctors to put her in a coma. Now She and her husband will be flying in a medical plane from Pennsylvania to NC. I will be glad to have them back home but not sure if she will know me. She can't talk, and use her hands. I find I have so many questions writerly wise on her condition. The questions will need to wait. Please pray for kathy and her husband. I want to be of help and encouragement to both of them.
