Happy weekend, Seekerville family! Thank you for another week of great posts and conversation and community!
ReplyDeleteGoooooooood morning, Seekerville! I see Erica's still up from the former day just hours before I crash in for a new day! Ships almost passing in the night, Vetsch!!!!
ReplyDeleteWishing every one of you a blessed and peace-filled, fulfilling weekend. May your words flow, both on the page and from your heart!
I'm going to take time to work among the posies today.... :) That's Ruthy-therapy!
Congrats, Ruthy, for having three stories as top Christian reads! Yay, you!!!
ReplyDeleteI was so excited, Debby. It's like a dream come true kind of moment... Still pinching myself! Thank you!
DeleteToday I'm remembering our military heroes who took part in the D-Day Invasion 76 years ago and giving thanks for their sacrifice and love of country. May the Lord continue to shine His grace on the United States of America so we can remain always "the land of the free and home of the brave."
ReplyDeleteAmen to that, Debby.
DeleteGood morning, Seekerville!
ReplyDeleteIn the midst of our current situation, it is good to stop and remember the heroes of D-Day. I'm ever thankful to those brave men who sacrificed all.
And congratulations, Ruthy!
Thank you, Jan! I shared a pic I found on Facebook this morning, of paratroopers going to Normandy and then on the right-hand side were their present day selves.... on the plane. It's a thought-provoker for sure.
DeleteThey didn't call them the Greatest Generation for nothing.
I'm sorry it's been so long since I've been in Seekerville. This has been such an unusual year. I had a severe asthma attack the end of January which led to bronchitis for six weeks. Just as I was finally well enough to get out and about the whole world shut down with Covid 19. I have been inside since then except for essential trips to the grocery store.
ReplyDeleteMy church is open again but all of a sudden my county has jumped from less than 10 cases to 122 as of yesterday. This jump has happened in the last two weeks. Needless to say since I'm high risk I am continuing to stay home. So thankful our services are live on Facebook and YouTube. I do yearn for life to get back to normal and I can again attend church in person.
I do have a question. What do you use as a back up for files? I've had an external hard drive for years but it crashed this week with no warning. On it were all the Children's Christmas programs and VBS programs I wrote as well as special lessons and other things I wrote over 20 years ago Plus 20 years of digital pictures.
All of my current writings are on a special flash drive devoted to that. I was told by experts that external hard drives and flash drives only last for 5 years. They said I could set up a back up on a cloud but it would cost over $70 a year. Too steep a price for this low income beginning writer who lives on social security and is also on food stamps and medicaid. Any suggestions for a solution.
I do have binders with hard copies of everything I write which has brought on criticism from family members who hate that I have so many binders in my living room. I don't have an office and live in a very tiny house. If I'm able to retrieve the files I lost, I will be adding even more binders and hard copies. Even though it is a pain to retype what is lost. At least I won't totally have lost it.
Wilani, I use One Drive cloud service through Amazon and the free Dropbox service from Google. That way I'm doubly backed up. And welcome back, we've missed you!
DeleteWell!
ReplyDeleteAnother great weekend.
I got my copy of "The Roll of the Drums (The Amish of Weaver's Creek Book #2)" at a sale price that is like being 3/4ths of a book winner. Which is great since I am about half-way into the first book now. Perfect timing.
Just love these bargain weekend editions.
NASCAR has two races today and one tomorrow. All in Atlanta.
Enjoy your weekend-- I know I will. :)
Jan's books are absolutely beautiful, Vince. Just lovely. I loved that series.
